Mugdha is a multilingual writer and strategist who believes things lost in translation are stories waiting to be told.

My love for words began with Bengali folktales when I was no more than five—chatty birds, silly kings, unhappy bird-catchers, ghosts, and jinns, widened my eyes and curiosity. Today, I am blessed to be doing work that illuminates alternate worlds, voices, and perspectives.

My many exploits in creative strategy, audience development, journalism, and screenwriting have led to a storytelling career spanning several mediums, platforms, and genres. When I do the work I do—design RFP responses that win principled battles, or write about Indo-Caribbean history, or develop a screenplay about India’s arcane lower courts (a work-in-progress), or champion The Americans with Disabilities Act—I challenge myself to share something new with the world.

I am currently developing and writing a 9-part international video series for Vox Media. Each episode in the franchise will shine a light on the unique ways in which people are adapting technology to solve modern needs.

And when not typing away on my keypad to meet goals and deadlines, I take my pen to blank papers, in service of that five-year-old who hungered for a good story.
